Breaking Competition: Power, Speed, Creative etc. This division is just as the Continuous sparring and must be be pre-registered. cost $10 extra , but if not competing in tournament the cost is $45 PREPAID... competitors must supply own material drop cloth no fire... deadline October 1, 2010 

CONTINUOUS SPARRING AT SPIRIT OF DETROIT NATIONAL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Attention Continuous sparring competitors you must pre-register $10 more to the tournament charge if you are not competing in the tournament you pay the tournament cost price-$45 PREPAID before October 1, 2010  NO! later : The continuous sparring will start on time at approx 8:30am this way we are able to prepare the event without distractions. Also you must have the following headgear with face shield, safe-t punches and kicks (toes must be covered) hands (finges tips must be covered) mouth gruard before you enter ring. Rules are 2 rounds 1 minute per. score10 winner-9 loser . No upper cuts, No leg kicks, No elbows, No take downs, This isnt a boxing match . Competitors must throw 8 kicks a round. 1st place winners championship Belts 2nd and 3rd trophies . This event is $45 and is not included into the tournament cost of 1,2 or 3 events.  So get a room the night before and plenty of  rest, because there is NO REFUNDS once registered thanks.

What is Domestic Violence?

Domestic Violence is a violent confrontation between family or household members involving physical harm, sexual assault, or fear of physical harm. Family or household members include spouses / former spouses, those in (or formerly in) a dating relationship, adults related by blood or marriage, and those who have a biological or legal parent-child relationship.

Master Donald Keith Hannah is a Certified Professional Life Coach for Domestic Violence Survivors.  Master Hannah is the head adviser of the Domestic Violence help line of the Yellow Tigers Inc throughout the country. Sometimes having someone to talk to can means everything.

Warning signs of Domestic Violence.

There are hosts of warning signs/behaviors to be  aware of that may be occurring in a woman's life that falls within the guidelines of domestic abuse.

 

USING PHYSICAL AND SEXUAL ABUSE

Hair pulling, biting, shaking, pushing, pinching, choking, kicking, confinement, slapping, hitting, punching, using weapons, forced intercourse, unwanted sexual touching in public or in private and depriving her of food or sleep

USING EMOTIONAL ABUSE

Insulting you in public or in private
Putting down your friends and family
Making you feel bad about herself
Humiliating you
Making you feel guilty
Being the one to define men's and women's roles

USING ECONOMIC ABUSE

Preventing you from getting or keeping a job
Making you ask for money
Taking your money
Not letting you know about or have access to family income
Demanding exclusive control over household finances

USING COERCION AND THREATS

Making or carrying out threats to do something to hurt you
Threatening to leave you, or to commit suicide
Threatening to report you to welfare
Making you drop charges

USING INTIMIDATION

Making her afraid by using looks, gestures, or actions
Throwing or smashing things, destroying property
Abusing pets
Dangerous driving
Displaying weapons

USING CHILDREN

Making her feel guilty about the children
Using the children to relay messages
Using visitation to harass her
Threatening to take the children away

USING ISOLATION

Controlling what she does, who she sees, what she reads, & where she goes
Limiting her outside involvement
Refusing to let her learn to drive, go to school, or get a job
Not allowing her to freely use the car or the telephone

USING JEALOUSY AND BLAME

Minimizing, Denying, Blaming
Making light of the abuse and not taking her concerns about it seriously
Checking up on where she's been or who she's talked to
Accusing her of infidelity
Saying the abuse didn't happen
Shifting responsibility for abusive behavior
Saying she caused it
